The Germany centre-back, who has been widely regarded as Chelsea’s best player this season, is one of a handful of high-profile players whose contracts are set to expire at the end of the current campaign. Tuchel confirmed that Rudiger will be playing his football elsewhere next season following the Blues’ 1-0 win over London rivals West Ham United on Sunday. Rudiger was absent from the match due to groyne and hamstring issues. Rudiger has been with the Blues since joining them from Borussia Dortmund in 2011.

Terry expressed his dissatisfaction with the news on social media, where he vented his anger. Terry expressed his displeasure with the club’s decision to let Rudiger leave on a free transfer this summer in response to a Sky Sports report. “How could we have let this man go?” he said.

Rudiger will leave Chelsea after a five-year spell during which he won the Champions League, the Europa League, the FA Cup, and the Club World Cup. Rudiger will be remembered for his achievements. Aside from that, he was picked to the Champions League season-ending squad for the 2020/21 season.

Following the sanctioning of Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich by the British government in March, the club’s financial situation and ability to renew contracts were severely jeopardised, resulting in a period of uncertainty for the club. Speaking on Rudiger’s departure, Blues manager Tuchel admitted that the sanctions imposed on the club resulted in Rudiger’s contract being terminated rather than extended.

“We put up a good fight,” Tuchel stated. “I put up a valiant effort on a personal level. We made him substantial offers, and the club attempted everything they could think of.

Antonio Rudiger will be departing Chelsea at the end of the current Premier League season.
Antonio Rudiger will be leaving Chelsea at the end of the season. “However, for the next few weeks, we will not be able to fight because of the sanctions,” says Rudiger. We are unable to adjust. We are unable to continue, and thus the situation is as it is.

His incredible performances up to this point have earned him my complete support. ” I’m really grateful that I got the opportunity to coach him and that he is now a member of the team. Due to the fact that he was nothing short of genius.”

Rudiger has made 196 appearances for the Blues across all competitions, with his appearances coming under four different managers: Antonio Conte, Maurizio Sarri, Frank Lampard, and Thomas Tuchel. Rudiger has scored 12 goals in his 196 appearances for the Blues.

Madrid, Manchester United, and Barcelona have all expressed interest in signing Rudiger on a free transfer this summer, with rumours claiming that Los Blancos are the frontrunners to sign Rudiger on a Bosman deal before the end of the season.

Notably, he is not the only Chelsea defender rumoured to be departing the club, with Danish centre-back Andreas Christensen – who is entering the final months of his contract – expected to join Barcelona in the summer transfer window.

Cesar Azpilicueta, Chelsea’s captain, has also been connected with a move to the Camp Nou club, which would see him become the only player in the club’s history to have won every trophy that has been made available.
