Burna Boy and Wizkid, two Grammy Award-winning Nigerian superstars, have unveiled a mind-blowing video for the African Giant’s new song “Ballon D’Or.”
The banging track is inspired by one of the most prestigious trophies given to professional soccer players — the Ballon D’Or, whose recipient is regarded as the best male football player in the world. It was produced by Nigerian British producer P2j.
On Friday, the musicians announced the video’s premiere on their personal social media profiles.
Burna Boy and Wizkid begin the video on a boat voyage, savoring the serenity of the cool setting at a beach while accompanied by various girls.
Both singers sung about their heroics in the music industry in the film, which also included UFC champion Kamaru Usman.
Burna Boy has collaborated with a wide range of musicians in 2021, including Jon Bellion on “I Feel It (Feat. Burna Boy),” Polo G on “Want It All,” Don Jazzy on “Question,” and Becky G on “Rotate,” which was used in Pepsi’s global football ad “Music Keeps Us Fizzing.”
The African Giant also collaborated with Justin Bieber on the 8x GRAMMY Award-nominated album Justice and with Sia for the 9x GRAMMY Award-nominated song “Hey Boy.”
He is nominated for the 64th GRAMMY Awards for Best Global Performance on “Do Yourself” alongside Angelique Kidjo, who has won many GRAMMYs.
