CARDI B TAKES A STEP IN THE DIRECTION OF COUNTRY MUSIC CROSSOVER.

Cardi B is well-known for her brash delivery and outspoken lyrics. The rapper recently demonstrated that her music can be adapted to a diverse range of global audiences. Cardi worked with Black country singer Jimmie Allen to deliver a traditional southern twist on her 2020 smash, “Money.”

The Bronx beauty has just developed a new country fanbase, which she is fully immersing herself in now that she has relocated to Atlanta. The Grammy winner teamed up with African American country singer Jimmie Allen to deliver a traditional southern-style remix of her 2020 hit, “Money.”

Entertainment Tonight, she premiered the video with the two collaborators, amazingly fusing the two genres during a surprise performance for her show “Cardi Tries” in a Los Angeles Western-style bar. Cardi B revealed that this was her first pop-up performance since 2019 and that she wanted to conserve the experience for her upcoming series.

The WAP rapper and her celebrity sidekick honed their line dancing and mechanical bull riding skills. As the episode concluded, the two surprised fans with a remix of the club banger including Allen on guitar. Cardi shouted out her verses in perfect country-girl twang.

Jimmie Allen has a history of fusing genres, bringing folks from Urban into his universe. The Delaware native most recently performed with Little Big Town at the CMT Music Awards 2022, where he included Monica in his rendition of “Pray.”

We’ll have to wait and see what Cardi has in store for us next. We’re not going to sugarcoat it: Cardi B crushed this alternate version of a popular song.
