Carlo Tevez forecasts the semi-final showdown between Manchester City and Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Carlo Tevez, a former Manchester City striker, has predicted a ’50/50′ draw in Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg at Etihad Stadium.

Tevez feels Manchester City can now fight on a “even footing” with Real Madrid and the rest of Europe’s elite.

Man City travel to the encounter following their quarter-final victory over Atletico Madrid, while Real Madrid eliminated Chelsea from the competition.

“Today, everything is absolutely different. Today, Real Madrid must worry about [Manchester] City,” Tevez told Man City’s official website.

“This is City’s new advantage. Today’s opponents must consider what City are capable of.

“With the players we now have and the infrastructure City has built over the years, we can compete on an equal footing with any team in Europe.”

“It’s a 50/50 draw [Man City versus Real Madrid],” he continued.

“I am overjoyed to see City in this position, competing against Europe’s best teams.

“Winning the Champions League has not been possible yet, but I believe the most important thing is that City is now competing on an equal footing with teams like Real Madrid, as it did in the most recent encounter against Atlético.

“It’s extremely gratifying to see what City have developed into over the last decade. It’s quite impressive. We’ve progressed from fighting for a position in the middle of the league table to competing on an equal footing with the continent’s biggest clubs.

“It’s an accomplishment that we should all be proud of.”
