Rapper Samuel Adu Frimpong, better known as Medikal, was fined GHc3,600 by the Accra Circuit Court.
After pleading guilty to the allegation of openly displaying a firearm, the musician was sentenced to pay the fee.
A month later, on November 26, 2021, Medikal appeared in court and originally pled not guilty to the charge, but then changed his plea.
As a result, the musician’s gun was likely to be released by His Honour Emmanuel Essandoh, who presided over today’s hearing.
In court, however, he notified the judge that he was changing his plea.
He was informed of the charges against him and entered a plea of guilty to the offense of openly displaying a firearm or ammunition.
On his own plea, he was found guilty by the court and sentenced to a fine of GHc3,600 or nine months in prison.
