Luis Diaz made a strong case for Liverpool over Chelsea in Sunday’s Carabao Cup final at Wembley.
The Colombia international, who joined Liverpool from FC Porto in January for an initial £37 million cost, started alongside Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah on the left side of the attack.
And Diaz was unfazed by the occasion. The 25-year-old made life difficult for Chelsea’s defenders with his skill, pace, and hunger to attack at every opportunity.
By the looks of his first six outings for Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp and his recruitment team looked to have done it again.
They’ve added a great player who has already boosted the squad’s performance for a very reasonable fee.
At Wembley, it was highlighted how frequently Diaz made no-look passes. He was unmistakably eager to please and put on a performance.
However, this is a player who mixes showy abilities with tangible results.
Luis Diaz’s ability in comparison to Reece James
On social media, a clip of Diaz during Liverpool’s Carabao Cup final triumph over Chelsea has gone viral.
The South American performed a brilliant touch to flip the ball over Reece James’s head, one of the Premier League’s greatest full-backs, before sending a no-look pass to Mane.
