Many questioned why he wouldn’t want to represent the country he claims to be proud of, and many questioned why he wouldn’t want to represent his own country. W
However, there are concerns that the general public is unaware of, and the player’s uncle decided to act on his behalf.
According to his uncle, Yakubu Ahmed, the defender was keen to join Ghana’s Under 17 squad some time ago, but was told he would have to pay a fee before he could serve his country.
“At the time, certain coaches, the technical team, and scouts were demanding money from him (Mohammed Salisu) in order for him (Mohammed Salisu) to be in the final roster of Ghana’s Under 17 squad,” Yakubu Ahmed told Sikka FM.
He couldn’t afford to pay that time, so he was left out, and the player felt betrayed by his own countrymen, which is why he is hesitant to fully commit to the Black Stars.
