Nicki Minaj is without a doubt one of the most well-known female Hip-Hop rappers. Minaj’s father, Robert Maraj, was tragically killed in a brutal hit-and-run accident a year ago, and she endured a really difficult time. The hit-and-run driver who killed Nicki Minaj’s father recently entered a guilty plea.
According to TMZ, Charles Polevich pled guilty to leaving the scene of a fatal accident without reporting it. And one count of physical evidence tampering.
Friday, while describing the conditions of the bargain, State Supreme Court Justice Howard Sturim remarked to Polevich, “I will sentence you to no more than one year in prison.” According to the judge, Polevich, who faced up to seven years in prison, would also be compelled to conduct community service and have his driver’s licence suspended.
Robert Maraj passed away in February 2021 at the age of 64, following a hit-and-run accident. Approximately 6:15 p.m. on February 12, 2021, Maraj was walking in the roadway on Roslyn Road near Raff Avenue in Mineola when Polevich struck him with his 1992 white Volvo station waggon, according to investigators.
Later, Nicki reflected on the tragedy on her website, writing, “I can say it has been the most painful loss of my life.” She stated that she loved him and that he will be missed. However, Polevich’s sentencing is slated for August 3.
